The training phase of the “Stepping Stones of Reading” program. The purpose of “Stepping Stones of Reading” is to develop the foundational social-emotional, reading and math literacy skills of preschool children. Ahead of the reforms in preschool education in Armenia, the “Oxford Armenia Foundation” and “NorArar” Education NGO have initiated a professional development program for educators, pre-school methodologists and kindergarten principals, which includes training modules, lesson plans with play and relevant materials.
Through this comprehensive programme, we promote the development of foundational literacy and social-emotional skills in preschool children, so that in elementary schools there is not an achievement gap which hinders a child’s literacy development and inclusion in general.
55 participants from almost all regions of Armenia joined our trainings.
The multidisciplinary team of Oxford Armenia Foundation and ՆորԱրար կրթական ՀԿ / NorArar Education NGO – psychologist Narine Movsisyan, preschool development specialist թալին մուր , kindergarten director Parandzem Khangeldyan, experienced primary teacher Lusine Harutyunyan and education expert Արփինե Բաղդասարյան – spared no effort to plan a detailed, meaningful and quality program for the preschool minds and teachers of Armenia.
