The issues and solutions related to literacy are diverse. One of the essential prerequisites for achieving universal literacy is the continuous development of the quality of support provided to students with special educational needs (SEN) or significant reading difficulties. In this regard, NorArar Education NGO and the Republican Pedagogical and Psychological Center (RPPC) have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Under this memorandum, teachers from the schools involved in the Lori region program and specialists from the Vanadzor and Alaverdi branches of the RPPC participated in training courses and received ongoing professional support from NorArar Education NGO. This support aimed to plan and implement targeted interventions for students with SEN and/or reading difficulties.
Working groups comprising teachers, teacher assistants, and specialists from the RPPC discussed each child’s reading issues, assessment results, solutions, and developmental trends individually, thereby enhancing the quality of reading support provided to the children.
This pilot program was a component of NorArar’s previously launched Reading Campaign. The Reading Campaign was implemented with the financial support of the European Union and within the framework of the “Civil Society Actors as Drivers of Change in the South Caucasus and Moldova” program by People in Need Armenia.
