Why are we facing  Foundational Literacy Issues Despite Millennia-long Traditions of Education, Writing and Knowledge Production?”

How did it happen, that in Armenia now we are dealing with foundational literacy issues having had a rich history of written and oral culture, having worshipped Tir in pagan times, the God of script and education? Together with our colleague Haykuhi Adamyan from the Republican Pedagogical and Psychological Center and Azganush Yerznkyan, a history teacher from Alaverdi school N 10, we discuss the barriers to developing reading literacy in Armenian secondary schools and present the NorArar Reading Capacity Development Campaign funded by the EU as part of People in Need Armenia program on CSO development in Armenia.
